Tensile Adhesion Strength of Atmospheric Plasma Sprayed MgAl2O4, Al2O3 Coatings

This study analyses the distribution of stress during testing glued cylindrical specimens with thermally sprayed MgAl2O4, Al2O3 oxide coatings in order to evaluate tensile adhesion strength. The set studies that make up this work were conducted influence geometric parameters test specimens, 25 mm diameter by 16–38.1 height, on measured strength specimens. and strain states inside coating at coating-substrate interface determined using finite element modelling method. debonding mechanisms, failure mode microstructure bond are also discussed. analysis shows a significant level non-uniform results stresses strains method for six types as well values obtained coatings, show need increase height standard specimen (according ASTM C633-13 (2021), GOST 9.304-87). should be increased no less than 1.5–2.0 times reduce separation area.
